Hey! š
Nice to meet you!
I’m Julianne, and I started WorthyHours as a way to help others do what I’m always working toward myself- living a life I love, on my terms.
I’ve always been a little bit of an oddball. When I was in high school, I chose a job that required some expensive training but gave me the opportunity to choose my hours. In college, I tested out of 75% of my degree because I wanted to be able to set my own deadlines (and still graduate in 5 years). After college, I found my dream job: a fully remote position that allowed me to use my communications degree in a meaningful way.
Suffice to say, I LOVE having the flexibility of determining my own schedule- but I know the difficulties that come with that first-hand.
When I work from home, it’s easy to get sucked into the trap of “just a little more work!” during family time in an effort to get ahead.
It’s equally easy to fall behind on goals that matter to me- because I think I can always “do it later.”
At different times, I’ve ended up on a sort of pendulum swing- from overworking to falling behind, then back again. And again.
Thankfully, based on those experiences, I’ve been able to come up with ways to outsmart myself and get work done at a sustainable pace, and these have allowed me to do amazing things, like:
- Investing in my long-distance relationship while working two remote jobs.
- Planning a wedding while leading the charge on one of my employer’s most successful launches ever
- Starting a new business (this one!) while working full-time

My dream is to live in a world where people have more time to spend on the things that bring their life meaning- whatever that is!
One thing you probably need to know about me: I don’t like to think in terms of “productivity” or “time management.” While these phrases are pretty common, (and there are a LOT of helpful things written about them) I think they send subtly untrue messages about our relationship with the moments that make up our lives.
Productivity is about producing- as if we were machines that need to keep a certain level of output in order to be valuable.
And time management makes me think of that phrase we use waaaaay too often: “Time got away from me.” Like it’s an unruly coworker or a naughty child.
But you are valuable no matter what you produce. And you don’t need to babysit time and make sure it stays in line. Time is something that you have, and you can use it in all sorts of ways. Some of those ways will bring you joy. Others, not so much.
My goal is to help you create more of those moments that bring you joy- while you juggle all the less-than-pleasant things you need to do in order to keep existing.
(Because let’s face it- no one has a life that they love 100% of the time… But, barring mental illness or extenuating circumstances, you should be able to enjoy it most of the time)
If you have dreams and goals you’re struggling to achieve (whether in work, life, or somewhere in-between), I’d love to help you make them a reality!
